The human being: three births, soul, ego, body
The human being is described here as surrounded by three envelopes — physical, egoic, spiritual — corresponding to three births. The soul is presented as a vessel of pure energy; the ego, as what must be cleansed daily. The soul, the ego, and the body, the text specifies, are not unified from the outset: they are three distinct layers that must first recognize each other before converging. A universal consciousness is introduced under the name Maya, called at times the "universal belt," at times "universal consciousness" — both designations appear, each as fitting as the other.
